Ciao ragazzi. Il vostro ultimo album “Feel Sorry for the Fanatic” risale al 1996, cosa avete fatto negli ultimi anni?

Abbiamo fatto diverse cose, ovviamente personali. Musicalmente posso solo parlare per me.

“God Is Evil“ è stato appena rilasciato.

English Version

Hi Guys. Your last album “Feel Sorry for the Fanatic” dates back to 1996. What have you done in recent years?

Hail! We we did several stuff, which is of course personal. But basicly, some of us got married, some studied, some developed their carriere in other directions. Musically I can just speak for myself. I moved to Berlin and played in some local Metal bands called Action Jackson and Suicide By Cop, which was more or less just fun projects. We did local shows, but never took ourselves too serious with it. In 2009 I joined Insidious Disease, a project formed by Silenoz of Dimmu Borgir and Jardar of Old Mans Child. Our album “Shadowcast” came out on Century Media in 2010. We gonna release another one hopefully next year.

In a few words how would you define your musical style?

Well, speaking for Morgoth, it is definitely Death-Metal how we actually know it from the early, good years…We have released a 7” called “God Is Evil” in August which will give you a good hint of what we are going to with our album “Ungod”, that will be released in Jan/Feb. 2015…We do, what we are best at, I would say!

“God Is Evil” is yours new single track, just released. Was your recording process different than for previous songs?

We went back to our roots basiclly. We recorded that Songs our homearea, in a small studio in the woods, to get the DIY spirit back from the old days. And it worked out well. For the first time we didn´t work with a “producer”, but produced it ourselves. The sound is very analog., going back to the basic stuff… no trigger bullshit and so on…pure old school DM!

What is the main theme in the Morgoth’s lyrics?

Well, it mostly deals with the obscurity and evil that mankind is able to create nowadays…mostly in the name of “God”…either Christian or Islamic gods…most of all the war bullshit that is going on leads us back to religious matters.

How did you start working with Century Media? Is an encouragement to you to work with an established record label?

We were one of the very first bands on the label, so it was obvious that we would work with them again. A lot of difference between the very early DIY days, where the label was only one person, when we signed our first record contract with them in 1989, but we believe that also the new staff is doing a great job for us…

You’ll have a concert in Brescia in November. This is the first time you play in Italy. What do you expect from this date?

Well, I heard from a lot of bands that a lot of shows in Italy are somehow “chaotic”…I really hope it won´t be like that…haha. Well I hope for a great evenning! We will play new songs already and I really hope a lot of DM maniacs will show up to celebrate a big party!!

The interview is over. The conclusion to you…

Thanx for the Interview! Hope to see lots of crazy people in Brescia in November!
